Breast-Enlargement

Breast Enlargement

Breast enlargement or breast augmentation is also called augmentation mammoplasty. It is a surgical procedure that aims to increase the size, shape, and fullness of your breast. Breast enlargement may help you to enhance your appearance if your breasts are too small or if one is smaller than the other; adjust for a reduction in the size of your breasts post-pregnancy; correct uneven breasts after breast surgery for other conditions, and improve your self-confidence.
Breast enlargement surgery involves the insertion of breast implants, which are prostheses, into the breasts. This alters the size and shape of the breasts. These implants could be silicone implants, saline implants, or alternative composition implants. The first two are the most common types of implants.
Another procedure for breast enlargement is Fat Grafting. This uses liposuction to take fat from other parts of your body and inject it into your breasts. This is an option for women who are looking for a relatively small increase in breast size and would prefer natural results.
Breast enlargement is a form of surgery that requires advanced technology and an experienced surgeon. You can get both if you consult with Dr. S Suma. She is a cosmetic surgeon who is particularly adept at performing breast enlargement surgery. She will take a detailed case study during your consultation with her in order to understand your reasons for undergoing breast enlargement surgery. She will also conduct a detailed physical exam and will work with you to make you feel as comfortable as possible.

Before your Breast Enlargement Surgery

Before your breast enlargement surgery, you will consult with your plastic surgeon as to the preferences for the feel, size, and shape of your breasts. Your surgeon will describe specific types of implants. These may include smooth or textured; round or shaped like a teardrop, and saline or silicone. She will also discuss the different options for surgical techniques.
Before your surgery, you will receive detailed information from the manufacturer of the implants. You need to read, review, and store this information carefully. Once you decide to have breast enlargement surgery, there are certain factors to keep in mind. Breast enlargement surgery may not fix sagging breasts, which may need an additional breast lift procedure.
You may also need a baseline mammogram before surgery. Your doctor may also ask you to discontinue certain medications prior to surgery. These may include aspirin-based medications, certain anti-inflammatory drugs, and blood-thinners. She may also ask you to refrain from smoking or ingesting alcohol for at least two weeks to a month before surgery. Prior to surgery, you should prepare a list of questions you may have for your cosmetic surgeon and ensure that you get satisfactory answers to all of your questions.
Besides this, your surgeon will perform certain tests to detect any breast abnormality. She will also ask you to stop eating or drinking anything for about 24 hours before surgery. You should also carry some loose-fitting clothing with you to the hospital. You should arrange for someone to stay with you for about 24 hours after surgery and should also arrange for someone to drive you home post-surgery.
Dr. S. Suma will satisfactorily answer any and all of your questions about your breast enlargement surgery. She may also take photographs of your breasts before surgery for careful study. She will have a detailed consultation with you before your breast enlargement surgery and will discuss your breast enhancement options.

During your Breast Enlargement Surgery

During your Breast Enlargement Surgery
Breast Enlargement treatment can be done in either a surgical center or an outpatient facility. It can be performed under local anesthesia with sedation, or then, under general anesthesia. In most cases, you will probably go home the same day with most patients not really requiring a prolonged hospital stay.
To insert the breast implant, your surgeon will make a single cut (or incision) in one of three places: in the crease under your breast (inframammary); under your arm (axillary), or around your nipple (perialveolar).
After making an incision, your surgeon will separate your breast tissue from the muscles or connective tissue of your chest. This will create a pocket either behind or in front of the outermost muscle of the chest wall (the pectoral muscle). Your surgeon will then insert the implant into the pocket and center it behind your nipple.
If your surgeon has inserted a saline implant, the latter is inserted empty and is then filled with sterile salt water once it is in place. Silicone implants, on the other hand, come prefilled with silicone gel. Once the implant is in place, your surgeon will close the incision with sutures (stitches) and will bandage it with skin adhesive and surgical tape.

Precautions and Procedures before and after Breast Enlargement Surgery

You may suffer from soreness and swelling for a few weeks after the surgery. You may also suffer from some bruising. Scars may lighten over time, but may not disappear completely. While you are healing, your surgeon may ask you to wear a compression bandage or a sports bra for extra support and positioning of the breast implants. Your surgeon may also prescribe medication to reduce pain.
You should follow your surgeon’s instructions post-surgery. If you do not have a physically demanding job, you may be able to return to work within a week, or as prescribed by your doctor. You should avoid strenuous activities that raise your pulse or blood pressure, for at least two weeks. You should also remember that while you are healing, your breasts may be particularly sensitive to jarring movements or physical contact.
You may need to consult with your surgeon post-surgery for the removal of non-absorbable sutures or for the removal of drainage tubes if any. If you notice warmth or redness around your breasts, or you run a fever, you should contact your surgeon immediately. You should also consult your surgeon if you have chest pain or shortness of breath.

Breast Enlargement Surgery Result

Breast enlargement surgery can dramatically change the shape and size of your breasts. The surgery may also improve your self-confidence and self-esteem. However, you need to keep your expectations realistic and you should not expect perfection.
You should also keep in mind that your breasts will continue to age after breast enlargement surgery. Also, weight gain or weight loss might change the way your breasts look post-surgery. If you become dissatisfied with your breasts over time, you may need additional surgery.
Dr. S. Suma is particularly adept at breast enlargement surgery. She understands the importance of a positive body-image and will work with you to give you the breasts that are perfect for you. She will also continue to consult with you post-surgery to ensure that you adjust to your new breasts in the most optimum way possible.
